Basic Overview
We are a Free Company of sorts, yes an actual Free Company IC! One that originated in Ishgard, having been started by a noble family there. The leader of the FC was a legally adopted child of that family, and ended up the one who inherited due to the unfortunate death of all other heirs in the family. Shortly before the current leader inherited, the family's reputation was damaged due to someone reporting certain illegal activities in Ishgard. So, when the current leader began to gain more control, they moved the majority of the Company's focus to Ul'dah, because such activities were more easily bribed into silence in an environment where bribes were the lifeblood of the city.It was only after the Company fully moved to Ul'dah that the last heir of the family died, and the current leader ended up inheriting the Company in full, much to the loathing of various Ishgardians, since they are a Miqo'te, and Ishgard, while better than it once was, does not really like Non-Elezen, and barely tolerates Hyur inheriting property or titles, let alone anyone else.While there is still a bit of rumor targeted from discontent parties in Ishgard, the Company is thriving in Ul'dah currently, and has two divisions, but only one of them is widely known in legal circles.The Business Front is two sides of the same coin, working together as a well oiled machine that compliments each other in various ways.The combat oriented side of the coin encompasses Adventurers, Treasure Hunters, Dungeon Divers, Mercenaries, Former Military, and anyone more inclined to be out in the field. They’re our protectors, the blades of thorn that are our first line of defense in any given situation.While the non-combat oriented side of the coin encompasses most everyone else, Traders, Crafters, Performers, and Academics. They are those that use their non-combat knowledge to aid our numbers, the stem that keeps us strong.Finally, we have those venomous blooms that lurk in the shadows, and sometimes in plain sight. Those that are willing to do less than savory things to get the job done will choose The Black Rose Syndicate, our division of the not-so-widely-known. Their cover is simple, known to outsiders as "Public Relations", and while many dabble in other sections of the company, their focus will always be to be that of the dark underworld.Doctors, Combat Medics, those trained in the healing aetheric arts are spread out throughout all divisions. While they also dabble in various areas depending on their other focuses, they answer to their own lead for most things. They are less their own division and more the leafy greens that branch out from the entire company, keeping it alive and healthy.
